A Story Born From Pain

Some stories don’t start with an idea—they start with a feeling. For me, that feeling was excruciating pain. What happens when your mind is blurred, consumed by pain? I didn’t set out to write a book at all. In the early hours of a rainy morning, I sat on my couch, praying for relief. The pain was so intense, I would have preferred to pluck my eyeballs out with an ice pick.

I can’t pinpoint the exact moment my mind began to wander, but fragments of something started taking shape. So, I wrote them down. I remember thinking about Paris—how much I adore Paris. That was the beginning of something I never anticipated.

The Journey to Writing a Trilogy

At first, I had no expectations, but the more I wrote, the more I realized those scribbles were forming pages. Then, those pages turned into chapters. Oddly enough, the pain I was in became my driving force. And so, Beyond The Vines became the cornerstone of my writing journey.

At its heart, this book is about family, heritage, obligations, love, loss, and growth—universal themes we all share in some way. Writing Beyond The Vines was both a release and a revelation. The words poured out of me relentlessly, and hours would slip away as I became immersed in the world I was creating.

Before I knew it, what started as a personal escape turned into a trilogy. The process was messy, beautiful, and, at times, physically painful—much like life itself. There were moments when the characters felt more real than I did, as if they were breathing and alive within the pages.
